Went to midnight as zombies, saw Sweetie and Riff (who shaved his head!!) and met some awesome kewl people. It was PACKED. Danced with Intern, hung out almost until the ugly lights came up, and ended up running promotional buttons through my skin again on account I thought the undead should be able to do such things. No blood, just a little skin. Didn't even hurt, and I wasn't drunk. I met someone whose uncle is a falconer, and I might get to go fly a falcon on Thursday! ANOTHER LIFE GOAL -- CHECK!
Slept on the couch, cleaned a little with Intern who fixed me breakfast, and then it was time for the second zombie excursion, the DC Lurch. This was fantabulous! I can't wait for the pictures. The Metro even allowed us to Lurch in the stations (someone called, supposedly) and Metro Center was a madhouse of laughing and fun.
"What do we want?"
BRAINS!
"When do we want'em?"
BRAINS!
Also such calls as "No brains for oil!" and when someone started a "Zombies Gone Wild!" groan someone else responded with "Show us your brains!" to general laughter.
There was a small sticky point, where we went by the group of real priests on the National Mall. The Zombie bishop tried to hide; thank goodness the resurrected Christ didn't show. Other points of note were the Books-A-Million store on Dupont, where we all crushed against the glass in a mock attempt to get in (looked just like in the movies) to the general glee of the bookstore patrons drinking lattes in the coffeeshop. Or the Dupont escalator, where we groaned and reached for the people on the opposing escalator. A few tourists were scared out of their wits. Mostly, people just laughed hysterically. We caused quite a ruckus packing against subway car glass and groaning at the people on the platforms of the stations. I have a feeling we won't get a permit next year.
Anyway, here's a photo from Midnight, in the corseted, button-wearing zombie outfit. Most of the makeup had run off by the time this one was snapped, Intern has some earlier pics on her camera (needs film developed). When more pics come out, I'll REALLY have to put another page in my photo gallery. It's past due for updates anyway.

And here's a picture only minutes before the Lurch. We ran into a guy who had been wanting to photo some zombies, only had to leave before he saw any. We were just getting off the metro while he was getting on, and he asked if he could take our pictures. He emailed them to me right away, what a nice dude! By the time I got home, they were waiting in my Inbox.
