Christians Not The Only Ones to See Divine Messages In Food
In 2004, a Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich sold for big bucks on ebay. In 2007, she was a hardboiled egg. She reigned as a pretzel in 2008.

Mother Teresa also had her food-icon fame days, as the infamous NunBun first discovered in 1996.

It is just now coming to light, however, that Muslims also experience these divine food interventions. Witness the message in a tomato in 1999, and the tropical fish in 2006 (although, to be fair, it was not a fish meant for eating).

The latest miracle comes to us from Nigeria, where thousands are flocking to see the names Allah and Mohammad inscribed in meat and gristle in a restaurant in Birnin Kebbi. Which leads us to the all important question -- where is my Buddha lettuce leaf?

No, see the icon in the bottom right? That's the symbol for the Onion (and for those of you who have never read the Onion, it is a popular satirical political newsletter. They are also noted for their AV club, which has excellent reviews of upcoming movies and bands.

My favorite article from The Onion was on the raising of the minimum wage by a couple of cents an hour. The Onion was celebrating because, "now people can buy brand name ketchup" and it went on for a whole article.

Today's big Onion headline? Israel, Palestine Now Fighting Over Cemetery Space
