Juggler in the Park

Another busy day today. Yesterday we spent the morning cleaning house so that Marie and Hubby could come over to finish watching AgtOrange play Silent Hill: Homecoming. Then AgtOrange and I settled in to watch M*A*S*H. At some point we will have seen every episode in order; we are up to season eight so far and it has been about a year since we started.

Today I left early for the first meetup of the new DC poi-spinners and jugglers group (hence the above picture). I learned about contact juggling, poi-spinning, and watched some very cool regular juggling. As we were jamming, we picked up two more fire dancers who had also decided the day was nice for some practice in the park. Next thing I knew, I looked behind me and the walls were covered in climbers -- the parkour/freerunners had also come out to play. It was absolutely amazing fun and I plan to go back next week if the weather and my health holds.

Went to Chinatown to catch the festivities for Chinese New Year, but it was crowded enough that all I could see were the backs of other people's heads, so I left. Came home to make bread for Pops as I promised and watch the superbowl. Tomorrow I will go see my dad and we will going looking for materials for me to make some homemade sockpoi. My whole body already hurts. The walking plus this level of activity has truly flattened me.

Tomorrow is going to hurt.

sisterstorm: FYI

I don't know if I'm making it obvious when we're over there, but I really like AgtOrange, and we really enjoy hanging out with the both of you. Also, I got my fair share of the orange cinnamon rolls - I only had to get moderately firm with Dirk over their equitable distribution. I'll e-mail you tonight with my recipe for the regular cinnamon rolls.

The recipe I use is from here:

http://thebakingpan.com/sweetyeastbreads/orangecinnamonrolls.html

although to give them some good rise I used a "poolish" which sat out overnight, and I also cut back the orange in the icing (otherwise it tastes a little like citrus floor polish smells).

BTW, I was right about today. I hurt all over.
