Yesterday's Check-In (Thursday)

How could I have done so much yesterday and still not hit all my points? Obviously, the Thursday list needs some serious tweaking still. It's a process. Medication continues to make me fat and insulin resistant, and somewhat unmotivated.

Comprehensive List of Tasks

  • grooming = yes
  • HIPS (10-2) = yes
  • Spanish = yes, finished lesson 17 and still working on 18
  • nap / rest = no
  • meal (1 prep/1 eat) = yes, I did eat healthy (made a chorizo pasta) and I also started to bake the bread for the crostini, but they broke up and I may have to start that recipe over
  • therapy = yes, and it took an extra hour due to a scheduling mixup
  • coping = no, although today (Friday) I did read some in a procrastination book. Unfortunately, the book isn't very good.

KAROAKE: I went out and sang a song and had a few drinks after Psycho contacted me, even though he ended up having to work and couldn't actually drink with me. It would not have been so bad if I'd managed a nap beforehand. And I'm kind of wondering how I'm going to be able to fit in a blog post on coping skills with all this other Thursday stuff going on.
Smoothie = no

Sober / No Compulsions = no, went out and had a few drinks

Today's Revelations

I like to use distractions to procrastinate. This is me not wanting to be responsible. I generally don't find work that others find tedious to be a bother, except when it comes to fulfilling some exciting plan or dream of my own. Why is that? Why do I want to hold myself back that way? Still analyzing this.

I am really getting fat. And I am not pleased, but I don't know exactly what to do about it. I think diet is going to play a central role, but at the end of the day it's just my medication. Still, I'm not willing to except this, if for no other reason than half my clothes don't fit and I haven't had the chance to wear them out before buying new stuff. I'll figure out something.
